For over several years that people used file sharing for illegal downloading. Since the software give a negative aspect of it's use and cause law conflicts with the clients. I am still being questioned that why does people still do illegal things although they cannot get everything they want unless they work hard for it. Shouldn't file sharing be illegal? (Excuse my english, sorry)

Of course not. There is nothing wrong with file sharing. In fact, it is not that different than what takes place on most web pages every day. Granted file sharing sites are haven for copyright infringement, but don't expect our current laws to last that much longer anyways. The technology is too pervasive and companies will soon learn to make money without being total jerks to folks who download files from a site. I don't see intellectual property law surviving in anything like its current form past the next 30 years.

No -- because it's like photocopying and VCRs -- there are many legal and valid uses for the software -- and because there are so many legal uses, it's not reasonable to make the software itself illegal.

File sharing is perfectly valid for a company to use internally, to share documents -- or for self-publishers and home-producers to share the content they have created -- or to share anything that has been released under public domain or creative commons license

So, just because some people choose to use the tools for illegal copying doesn't mean the tools themselves should be illegal.
