There may not be any law prohibiting sleeping in nude, but it is certainly not approved by the society. If you were alone in the room , it would have been different. Since you are with a roommate, common etiquette demands that you seek his opinion first.

Good Lord!! if you are a straight guy living with a straight woman and you are only roommates than GET SOME FREAKING CLOTHES ON. If you expect your other sex roommate to pay their share of the rent and tolerate you at the same time you will show them the same respect as you would your mother. Would you walk around with your butt hanging out with your mom living there???? I hope you wouldn't. Have some modesty.

It depends largely on whether you and your roommate sleep in separate sleeping areas. If not, then it is most inappropriate to sleep in the nude. Try sleeping in some loose fitting boxers.

Why are you asking us? You're obviously worried about offending him, so ask, yes it will affect your relationship, and yes, he may think you're weird, but, on the plus side, you might just be able to sleep in the nude.

I would first get to know the roomate better before you start sleeping in the nude. This could be awkward and very offensive to someone--thus you should get to know them better to make sure they are ok with it.
