They want modern cars
Modern homes
Modern girlfriends wearing only western clothes and mini skirts
Modern travel plans (not like before when the holidays meant having dinner with the family and doing pooja)
Modern roads
Modern discos and pubs
Modern clubs
Modern society
But there refuse to realize that they can know a modern God, someone they can learn about, but choose not to know, he came to die for our sins, ascended to Heaven and we await his second coming.
They choose to follow their own practices, idol worship and continue their traditions.... Is that not a bunch of hypocrisy?
Where is the common sense of the people?
Thanks.

Hello :)
We Indians never depend on the Western Influence, as you said, we have our own culture and tradition. We follow that. And, we respect all religion including Christianity, all everything. India is changing, before they were no moder cars, club..and so.. but India is changed. And they are girls and women who too were saris and good clothes. Have you seen Indians wearing only western clothes and mini dress?
Don't expect people to follow the same religion you are!
People in this world have their own practices, and religion. You can't blame that. Even we don't. If as you say if people all over their world, follow the same religion, and still why are there wars, terrors???
In India, there are many religion, caste, and practices. And it varies from everyone..so, Don't expect everyone to follow your religion. The world is different.!. We respect all religions. But not all follow the same religion. If it was like that, the world be had peace.
I'm sorry. Remember the world is different!:)
And it is not a bunch of hypocrisy!!.
I'm sorry if i was wrong! =)

Well, both the Indians and the Western civilizations gain benefits. The Indians decided to adopt all the knowledge of modern technology and science, societies, and studies, but they only 'filtered' the culture and refused to use the western religion. Because traditional and religious appearance is still primary and by far an important aspect for reputation, the Indians intend to be faithful with their own beliefs. And it is hard to separate them from the views that are already parts of their lives. Therefore, the Indian nation develops without having to change its religion.
On the other side, the Western side, as long as the Indians still purchase from the West, there is an improvement for its economic growth. No offense, but the rejection of the Indians to the modern God does not largely affect the Western economy and politic.
And I think we have to know that in this modern day, people claim to have rights in worship--freedom.

Indians do say that we are secular, but, mind you, we come with some restrictions. Isnt it?
But, the very fat which cant be denied is we are a home to multiple religions and state that we do provide peace and harmony to all people devoid of caste and religion. And we DO provide it. But, when it comes to Christianity, Indians do not agree over this because of the rising popularity of the christianity. When you go down South, you will come to notice that many of the villages themselves have been transformed into chiristianity following communities because of the funds the churches get from the other countries for food, medicine, schools and what not.
There are alos some cases of indulging individuals into painstaking rituals just like every other religion. Nevertheless, Indians do accept the religion, but they cant deny the fact that Christianity is a budding(I dont think so) when compared to the Hinduism.
Hope you got ur answer.

Your government acknowledges that to be a part of The Western World it needs to present The Face of Change.
Your culture has been founded on hundreds of years of beliefs.
Sikhism, Hinduism relies on the total appreciation of their Gods.
They matter to your people.
Christianity is a new religion in comparison to Hinduism.
Your leaders in The Mendhirs and in the Gurdwalahs accept this fact.
Your fellow countrymen do not have the appreciation you have.
Please it is for you to enjoy your faith.
I have total respect for your country's multi faiths.
Time is a great healer and in years to come there will be an appreciation in your country for The Western Faiths, but not at this moment in time.
Try and be patient.
It is difficult but you and I know you can do this.

God is neither Christian nor Western.... God is God irrespective of how you name Him or worship Him....
All major religions have originated in Asia..... should Indians therefore have no religion since they are so influenced by the Western ways...... well, that indeed is the case in a way... most of the Indians are not truly religious. Most of them are hypocritical as well, but that too is one of the Western influences........ genuine Indian culture is only in the history books... the average Indian today is neither here nor there. But that is a common malady of the current times and affects all nationals... the American is no American, the Britisher is not British enough and indeed the Chinese is not Chinese enough either!! Genuine cultures no longer seem to have much to do with nationalities or geographical locations..... they have generally been sacrificed for the money-culture.

Errrmmmm........ Excuse me, but aren't you making a rather tenuous (at best) connection between the material 'things' of the West and what you believe to be the predominant Theology of the West?
And who are -you- to even question someone elses religious beliefs? (That, BTW, wasn't an intended insult. I'm just really curious as to how you, or anybody else, justifies believing that they're right and everyone who -doesn't- believe as they do must therefore be wrong.)
And what's wrong with Puja? Most 'practicing Xtians' will say prayers before a meal and frequently have a 'quiet moment' or two of prayer during the day. And they -always- admonish their children to 'say their prayers' before bedtime. Except for, perhaps, a bit more involved ritualism (and the freedom to call upon the 'God' or 'Godess' of ones choice), I don't see a helluva lot of difference.

But then again all Western people aren't Christian...heck those who say they're Christian just folllow the relitgion and put themselves in a category but don't practice and live their lives accordingly to what the word og God says.
THis is a loaded argument but Christianity isn't something Western...it did after all originate in Asia
"Western lifestyle" is something humans created not God

Why do you think that other people must prefer the religion that you prefer? Is it modern to force people to change if they don't want to? Sounds like you have concerted to Christianity and you want everyone else to do so also. It doesn't work that way. How does it hurt you if they continue their traditions only in this area?

for me, there is only one God. Not an old God or a modern God. Just one, the same one. even when he comes again, he is still the same. Not new and modern.
