As part of my daughter's history homework she has to do a front page of a newspaper as if writing about the Battle of Hastings from either perspective - Harold's side or William's side and I just wondered if anyone had any great ideas for the title of the paper? The best we have come up with so far is 'Daily Chain Mail' or 'Hastings Herald'! All sensible ideas gratefully received! She is only 11 so nothing too crude or time-wasting - thanks! Her preference is to do the paper from Harold's side and I am sure there are numerous witty comments about anticipating beating the French in last weekend's papers about the rugby, but since she has to do the paper reporting on the battle itself, it might be easier to do the conquering side? Any help would be appreciated - she is enjoying the task enormously and has done a lot of research and so I want to encourage her newly-found enthusiasm for history.

I know you specifically didn't want any superfuous answers, but I thought the headline could be "Europeans fight over the future of Britain"

Well, I thought it was funny and true!

Good luck to your daughter, it's nice to have a child interested in education.

Might call it the " OLD LONDON TIMES " You could start the article off with " Shocking news from Hastings. William has won " She could then go on to describe the battle. Good luck
