I guess it would be one thing if they were just taking pictures or asking question, but they act like piranhas in a feeding frenzy: they crowd doors making it almost impossible for the celeb to exit, they crowd their cars so they have difficulty moving; and even cause car accidents by chasing the celebs. In fact, I think they often create a public hazard by their methods of trying to get the picture.
I was absolutely disgusted when I saw the clips of the paparazzi crowded around Britany Spears' car trying to get the attention of her kids so they could get photos.
I'm all for freedom of the press, but I don't think this is what the founding fathers had in mind. I feel protection against paparazzi should be expanded. Even making it easier to impose criminal and/or civil charges against reporters who go to far.
What are your thoughts on this.

Let me add that if Britney, Lindsay, and others really want to be left alone by the paparazzi, they would stop doing so much to attract attention. I just feel they should be able to leave a restaurant or parking garage without having to feel accosted or worry about running someone over.
Maybe the law should be something like all press must remain at least 10' back at all times (unless invited closer) and this would be extended to the celeb's vehicle and other public places.
