Did i choose to feel rejected by my father and brothers? No. did i choose to want to protect my mother against pain? did i choose to feel rejected by the boys' team and drift to the girls' team. No. Did I choose to seek out male friends and then look at them sexually? NO to all of the above. any real choices came much later

Like any thing that is wrong, whether it is stealing, cheating, lying, killing, or sexual. The choice may not be whether to be tempted to do wrong, but the choice is made when you act on that temptation. I may be angry enough about someone to want to kill them, and I could live with that anger for years, but the moment that I act out on it, I make a choice.

Choice is a tricky concept. When I hear the word used blithely I always think of M. Thatcher.
Determinism is another tricky concept.
And chance is a third.
