Meteoroid (frequently only millimeters in size and its maximum size is smaller than a kilometer, and after reaching the earth it becomes more smaller) can not destroy the earth, but an Ateroid or Comet can.
During falling it reaches at speed up to 72 km/sec. At those moments nothing to do completely.

thinking about this, i dont know as there would be too much to do in 24 hours...i think id like to spend it with my whole family having a great time partying.
