I wonder if the many thousands U.S. soldiers buried in Normandy asked the same thing about you: "I'm American, why would I go get killed along in France for somebody who can't fight back?".

Well said, Cowboydoc.

I can tell you this America and England came to the worlds rescue in WW II and saved your sorry asses, If it were not for America you French would be speaking German, Wearing leiderhosen and eating funky sausages.
There would be no EU and you all would be crying bloody murder. Have a little appreciation for the Countries in this world who stand up to haters like Iran, Syria, Vietnam, N. Korea, and many others.
You really need a history lesson on the conflicts that have been fought in this world by countries other than yours, What war did France fight in? Oh! Yea! The French Revolution.
Napoleon did a great job with that.

Iran? I believe we have been in the IRAQ War since 2003. Geography note: Iran is just a neighboring country to Iraq.

The only thing I heard of Iran is the possible threat of nuclear weapons and a silly president who believes that there are "no gays" in his country.

So "we have no trouble with" our enemy? Maybe if terrorists hijacked a plane and tried to destroy a major city in France, like Paris, then you'd have a different opinion?

First of all, If I were you, I wouldn't be proud to say you're French. We have been getting you out of your own jams for quite some time now, with all the time you criticizing us for how we do it. Maybe those buried in the sand at Normandy would have something to say about your narrow view of the world. We could just as well pack up and move out of these conflicts that the rest of the world gets into, but no we still stick around, trying to be a help. Middle East, Africa, Korea all asked us for help. Believe me, if it was up to me you'd be on your own as fast as you could say "French Fries"

I'm not going to call you names or make fun of you. You have to follow your concious. I did in 1965 and went to Viet Nam, after the French failed by the way. I gave two years and was wounded twice. When I saw what was going on, I knew I was right. This does not however make war right, it's only my opinion.
I'm not going into what Iran has, or doesn't have, it's a matter of a free world. Why should our country, the U.S. give it's young men and women, the pride of it's country, to make sure the rest of the world is free?

I am tired of seeing our young people going over to places that are hard to pronounce, to fight someone that's not harming us, to help someone else, why. Why don't we let them suffer, like what's happening in Africa?

We gave two million men and women to Europe in WW2 and to the South Pacific, for who? it wasn't bothering us.
We gave 100,00 men to Korea and another to Viet Nam, now your saying you want to stay home. Well, you do that.

You sit home and watch your T.V. and the news, and, hope we win the war once again for you, so you can be comfortable. I gave my time. My father gave his in France for your family, he was wounded there, by the way, in some little crappy French village for your freedom. My grandson is in Iraq for the third year now. Another is getting ready to go.

We Americans have always been on the front lines for all of you in Europe and your going to sit back and watch on your T.V., that's up to you my French friend, you'd better hope we win.

Totally agree with you. We're the one dying there, not Bush. But if anything good happens, Bush is the one taking the credits.
