My grandson is there, I talk to him everyday, they are not "so bombed out" as you seem to think. They have large cities and an everyday life like you and me. These areas you think are bombed out are called "red" zones that are ignored by everyone. They are dangerous and are not patrolled by our men.
Our troops keep the most areas out of harms way so people can go on with a normal life. When we leave, it's going to be hell for them with every person to them selves.
