I live here. Well Vegas doesn't hit 120. The hottest was 116 I believe. Best time in Oct., Nov, Dec., March & April.

If you are looking for the best rates it DEFINATELY has to be Mid December. You can literally stay at any one of the non 5-star hotels (5 stars being caesars, bellagio, venetian, wynn, four seasons, and the signature @ mgm grand) for under 100 dollars a night and most are actually 80 or under. That leaves a lot of good hotels (mirage, TI, MGM grand, NYNY, Monte carlo, Planet Hollywood, Paris.) But if you're willing to pay a little more I'm sure you could find Less than 200 a night for the 5 stars. This time is also less crowded and although a little bit cooler, you can get more bang for your buck, which is what the smart vegas traveler always looks for. Plus you'll get to see a lot of nice christmas decorations and you wont be tied down because of the unbearable heat. All in all I think its your best bet.
Thats my opinion, happy bargain hunting.

Okay. The best days of the week are Sunday to Thursday. Hotel rates double or triple for Friday and Saturdays. Cheaper flight days are often Tuesday and Wednesdays.
The best times of the year, price wise are July and August because it's HOT (120 degrees, easy.) and the two weeks before Christmas - probably because everyone is busy Christmas shopping, and they don't have extra cash.
The MOST expensive time is New Year's Eve. (I just got an email offer from one of the Strip hotels for $1795 a person for THREE nights just for the hotel. Tack on another $500-600 for airfare, and you've got a party! LOL)

The best time to travel there is when others are not. If you could get a hotel Sunday through Thursday, the cost of your room will be much less. You could go just after a major convention. This would help also. If you could go just after new years or labor day then you will get a good deal also.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas is good. People are busy and not taking vacations....so Vegas is a little slower. Hotel prices are good and so are flights. The only problem is that the pools are mostly closed and some of the shows take a break. Worst time is any holliday weekend or super bowl weekend.

Actually I think around November is when they have their start of "convention season", at least that's what I was told there years ago. Summer can be hot, but if you're going to gamble, your inside most of the time anyway. And, depending on what part of the country you're from, the heat isn't that bad to deal with. I always preferred summer time, because then you can take a break from gambling by going to the pool and save some money :)

Anything but the summer- too hot!
I'd imagine Vegas on New Years would be great. Or for inexpensive trips, a bit after.
A Grand Canyon trip and a top end show is well worth it also, anytime of year

Go in the fall, winter or spring, as its not that hot, can be cool at night but very nice. When I went the first time it was in August, it was very hot always over 100 degrees and just unbearable. The second time I went was in February, the weather was nice, a little chilly at night, but you could walk around comfortably.

It's your choice really. Some like it hot in the summer months and some don't. I prefer now through April. The weather's just right, hotels are not as expensive, except when there are conventions or holidays and you can get around town easier (not as many tourists roaming).
