I read 'The Scarlet Letter' for English last.
I really like the book 'The Secret Life of Bees' by Sue Monk Kidd. It's a great book that most teenage girls like.

The last book I read was Judge & Jury by James Patterson & Andrew Gross. I would recommend it as a fast paced entertaining read. Currently I'm reading Rigged: The True Story of an Ivy League Kid Who Changed the World of Oil, From Wall Street to Dubai by Ben Mezrich. It's more interesting than it sounds & is written much like a novel.

The Devil Wears Prada was a lot of fun!! You may also like Sophie Kinsella, who writes about a shopaholic who is sailing through life with the usual trouble and tribulations -- very funny stuff!
(-: I have to say the last book I read, though, was "Your Brain on Music" by Daniel J. Levintin, and I'm reading "The Stuff of Thought" by Steven Pinker. Both are quite thought-provoking and good. The YBOM was an easy, fun read, though. TSOT I'm having to take slow and think about more.

I just finished Devil in the White City. I loved it. I feel like I've lived in Chicago now.
Now I'm reading The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens. I didn't like him when I was forced to read his stuff in school, but I've done a turnaround. I read this line last night, "To be the friend of Swiveller, you must reject all circumstantial evidence, all reason, observation, and experience, and repose a blind belief in the bookcase."
I recommend both.

The last book I read was Water for Elephants. It was magnificent. I adored it from beginning to end. I am now reading The Fig Eater. It is good, but not great. I have yet to make up my mind.
