I love my wife. We will be married for 12 years this November. I am trying to find ways to make her feel special and show that I love her. Most of the advice that I have read say do little things like help out around the house by cooking dinner, doing laundry every once in a while and pick up (In our house I am the one who normaly does all of this). Give her flowers every now and again. Tell her you love her everyday. Give her a small special gift. Take her out for a long romantic weekend without the kids. I do all of this and more. I bring her coffee to her when she is in bed every morning. I make sure that I give her a big hug and kiss and tell her that I love her every morning, when we get home from work and before we go to bed. I tell her she is beutiful. I need help finding other ways. Do any of you have any ideas?

If you are truly sincere about what you ask, here it is. Give the kids to the grandparents for the weekend, find an isolated getaway that is not frequented by tourists and set up the perfect princess fantasy and act it out to the end complete with riding up to the front of the hut or domicile on the back of a white horse dressed only in a loin cloth, bareback on the horse. Knock on the door of the pick up point in the fantasy and ride her to your place lifting her off of the horse showing the respect of nobility to your princess and place a simple yet stunning crown of diamonds on her head before taking her inside for the pampering of a true princess just like in the fairy tales. Be creative and unique and go the distance to make that very fantasy a reality and an event that is unshadowed by any other in her life. The things you cite in your daily lives gives you the ability to pull this off in style and you will win a place in her heart that will go untouched by anyone else ever. You will be king on the mountain in her eyes for the duration. The idea is not to give the illusion of her being a princess but actually letting her be one. Only a few devoted romantics could pull this off but it can be done and is noteworthy. Do this without expectation and from the bottom of your heart and everything you could ever want from her will be yours without asking. Most men can give a woman an illusion of fantasy, real men make fantasy reality.

Well it sounds like she is a very lucky woman. And I'm sure after 12 years she knows it. And obviously there has to be something about her that you just love and adore. Instead of going all out to try and make her feel lucky why don't you doing something to let her know how lucky you are to have her thus making her feel like a wonderful princess deserving of all your kind actions to her.
Be creative. Go with something from the heart. Personally 12 hand written pages (one for each year of course) and one reason per page on how lucky you are to have her in your life would be adorable. Tell her how she makes you feel and how she makes you life better. Let her know what you admire in her!
Sounds to me like you two are a match made in the stars. Oh and by the way congrats on 12 years. You sound like you and your wife are in love and going strong!!!

If your wife is unhappy, that is her responsibility. Continue to do what you do for her and let her feel loved. If she is truly unhappy, perhaps she is depressed and talking to a good psychologist and perhaps finding the right medication is what she needs more than some flowers or dinner cooked for her.
By the way, what makes me happy sometimes is alone time! Buy her a basket of bath products, soaps, lotions, candles etc. and give her an afternoon to herself. You can also enjoy this time alone doing the things you enjoy knowing that you're also making your wife happy.

Why do you really need to? Sounds like you are showing in more than enough ways that you love her. If you do find more ways to spoil her, in a few months you will be asking this same question again, continually trying to top yourself. Take a breather. And maybe give her a foot rub.

Get her a tiara and really poofy high heel slippers and a silky robe. Then get the camera and take fun pictures. That always makes me feel kinda princess-ish. Maybe I'm just weird but whatever. I love it when my husband and I play "princess"!

wow... my husband needs lessons from you!! if she doesn't already feel like a princess, she's got a problem, however, if you are STILL looking to do something more, find out what kind of life long dreams she's had and do what you can to fulfill them to the best of your ability. for example: my husband has always wanted to fly helecoptors but had never even touched one. for our wedding i got him a local helecoptor tour and he was shocked and completely thrilled just to come close. good luck! and keep up the good work. it's hard to find guys like you, she's lucky!
