I live 10 Kms from the CBD (1KM from our Exchange) and am on ADSL. The best that I can get is 10 - 20kbs. WOW !! I am excited. When are they going to stop pulling the wool over our eyes? They need someone in that position who knows what they are doing.

I agree, it is disgustingly slow. Japan is supposedly the fastest and their downloads are around 10 times faster than Australia and the uploads are around 6 times faster. I am on ADSL with Iprimus and my average is around 450Kbds a second. Compared with what some can get overseas, that is a pittance.

Icemachine, You clearly not an IT Wizz, or even an underwizz. You may think you are but sadly you have your hand on something else than your keyboard. I am on ADSL Broadband and have trouble logging on sometimes. Just because you live in Sydney, Does not make you the Guru of Australia. You live close to Johnny and I guess that is why you have this super Speed. Wake up and Smell the rubbish we in other Cities have to put up with. By the way, get yourself an IT Course and learn more about things you do not understand.

Just more proof that Govt and equally educated people need to keep the hell out of IT and Communications. You wouldn't know your elbow from a Kb/s. If you that close to an exchange in Sydney that would be 512Kb/s-24,000Kb/s. I'm only guessing thats your mistake your so full of details on your connection. Its a completely stupid concept govt needs to foff out of it.

The smaller end of ADSL is 512/128Kb/s so how are you quoting 10-20Kb/s unless your as I'm guessing confused on 10-20Mb/s ? Whats a joke is people like you and pollies
talking about Kilo, Bits, Bytes, Mega and mixing and matching them with out having half a clue. Vote for the Libs they know that this Comms is best done by the private sector not Govt's
ok

our ADSL isnt all really that slow if u want faster speeds ur going to have to pay alot for it mines 8000/384K and im paying $44 a month but in a few months it goes up to around $89 a month and i only get 12GB downloads

if ur saying ur only getting about 10-20 kbs and u mean 10-20 KB/s not kb/s if it was kilobits it would be so slow the internet wouldnt even work that sounds like ur speed is 256K/64k u should be able to get faster then that im pretty shure

as for that other guy saying vote for liberal and shizz im going to vote for ANYONE but them they have stuffed everything up so bad and turned australia into a nightmare and they lie to.

i dnt want liars as my leader thank you!!!
