Boys have very few male role models who are teachers in school. So they grow up associating teaching and education in general with women. Boys grow up with the attitude that education is feminine. Not all boys have this opinion, of course. Families with fathers who show an interest in education are more likely to have children, boys and girls, who associate teaching and education with both sexes.
I don't buy the argument that men are less nurturing than women as some sort of a biological fact. When boys are taught that men are nurturing, then they learn to be that way, too. There is nothing inherently feminine about the teaching profession.

It's a personality thing. Women tend to be more nurturing, patient, and enjoy being around children. We also tend to be more "right brained," so the creative/expressive aspect of the job is more appealing to us than it is to most men. It doesn't mean that women are better at it, or that male teachers are weird at all, just that more women tend to be drawn toward the profession.
This starts to change at the high school level though. You'll see more male high school teachers, because they're focusing on one field of expertise. For anyone who's passionate about their favorite subject, it's fairly easy to say "I want to teach this!" at one point or another.

Teaching is a noble profession! Teaching is more on a mission not a profession! At the early period of life our first teacher is our mOTher, not to mention the care and love that they give to us and even to impart their knowledge. that maybe a great impact to females to go on teaching rather than the male, or we can say women are more noble than men, becoz there are many male lawyers than women! I am teacher but i am noble enough to accept the truth! Teaching doesn't require gender, it required passion and affection!

Females tend to be much more nurturing than males. You need to not just be able to teach, you also need to care about children.

Because women tend to be more nurturing and better with small children. In high school it's about 50/50, then in college it's mostly male professors.

I'm a male 4th grade teacher, but most males don't think teaching can support a family like they want.
