terrorism is a cheap way to fight govts round the world.
In the age of liberalization, their activities have become faster. The mission terrorism can not be spelt in a para nor can be accomplished over night. However as a responsible citizen one should........
1.suspect anything unusual. This will help in reducing the effects.
2. do not support/shelter them for any temptation.
3. do not bring religion into this
4. inform police when u suspect.

Direct killing alone can't solve the problem.We have to go to the root cause and then the source as also the system which sustains them.Most of the terrorist breeding is due to peculiar socio-economic factors and to handle them effectively may take more than one generation.Education (Awareness) and economic well being(poverty alleviation)have a direct bearing on it.But for the 9/11 and subsequent American involvement,terrorism wasn't on the agenda of any country.Therefore,a strong international movement with active participation by all the nations is most essential.

Well, two wrongs don't make a right. So, "killing them all" like the other posters suggest is definitely out of the question.
EDUCATION.... is the key to eliminating terrorism. Learning to co-operate and tolerating each others differences will go a long way to a peaceful existence.

Root cause of terrorism anywhere is unstable economy, lack of education and hopelessness.
And also more than often religion is used as a escape goat on many occasion. Take the concept of Jihad which is still being popularised by Al-qeda (bin Ladin). Bin Ladin is using people for his reasons but mask it with religion and by preaching fools who kill themselves.
