It's all about attitude. Let's face it, our lives from day to day usually don't change all that much, but damn, some days, you feel so good, and others, you just want to jump off a cliff. That's all about attitude and how you are perceiving your life.

It may sound corny, but when I was really down about my entire life a few years ago, I bought a little day planner. Each day, I made myself write something I was thankful for or made me even a little bit happy that day. It could be as profound and exciting as a new project completed well, or as simple as, "I am happy for the sunny day we had after all this rain."

I think we as humans we have as much need to build things up as tear them down, so in doing this planner, I didn't allow myself any qualifiers. (I am infamous for them.)

NO "I love this, BUT/EVEN THOUGH/SOMEWHAT/SORT OF/MOST OF THE TIME, etc." In fact, I wrote in the front of the planner, "NO QUALIFIERS." Sure, some of my statements came out stronger than I might have meant them (ex: I wrote, "I adore my yard." I had just been sitting out there, and just enjoying the flowers, the smell of the fresh-cut grass, etc. Do I "adore my yard" all the time? Do I "adore my yard" when I have to take care of it and I don't feel like it? Of course not, but at the moment I wrote this, I DID adore it, and that is what you are trying to capture, to remember.)

Yes, this sounds really cornball, and I admit in doing it, sometimes I was even irritated. However, in just committing to find something good each day to write in, your shift of focus isn't on the bad, but searching out the good...and that brings about a change in attitude. You'll start to find good things, and you'll appreciate them better.

Not only that, but when you are down, go back and read past entries. Without the qualifiers, you can feel the passion/happiness/contentment you felt in the moment, and that can also lift your spirits. More than once did I feel crappy about myself, go back and read, and feel better--good even.

I know guys are usually not into something like this, so modify this as it fits you. But if you seek out good, you will find it.

Best wishes

Dear Brother, you are definitely dissappointed with something going on in your life. Dissappointments happen when things do not meet our expectations. Happiness comes from connecting to the most superior power, the creator of this universe , ALLAH. When you love ALLAH, you will feel this happiness in you when you are contended with whatever is happening in your life. Remember, ALLAH alone can make you laugh and he alone can make you cry. When you show faith in him, he can turn your sorrows into your joys. Look around, there may be people more depressed than you. Try making them happy with your warmth, affection and care. When you will give happiness to others, ALLAH in return will fill your heart with an inner happiness and satisfaction.

don't waste your time thinking about the thing that's bothering you (unless it's absolutely necessary !) just go on with your day like everything is alright and soon you'll find that it is, it's reverse psychology (it works!)
