Ok forget stats....whom do you think is the most UNDERRATED....the guy ESPN never talks about, but hes always there every 5th day, sometimes 4th, posting K's and eating up innings! The guy who always keeps his team in the ball game...Even if he is one of the highest paid on the team, he still doesnt not get what the recognition his deserves...The guy who posts Cy-Young quality #'s but always loses to the likes of Randy, or Webb...I have my opinion....just wanted to hear everybody elses......

Roy Oswalt:
112-54 (while pitching for the offensively weak astros)
ERA of 3.07 (never going over 3.50)
Averaging over 200 IP per year
Averaging over 150 K per year
1.20 WHIP

All without winning a Cy Young award (though he does have an Olympic gold medal)

Well some pitchers haven't been inconsistent enough over that course of time. Only one pitcher pops into my mind, and that is Tim Wakefield! And that knuckleball will probably keep floating around for another 10 years! His numbers have been especially good over the last 2 years. However, alot of those wins came against Tampa Bay and Baltimore.

Right now, the most underrated pitcher is Jeff Francis mostly because the Rockies haven't been known as a pennant contending team. Until this year! I hope he does great in the World Series!

CHAD BILLINGSLEY, Dodgers. Ranks third in MLB with 128 ok. 3.25 era. 9 wins, and 5 of 6. In his 0.33 season, Chad is transforming into the Dodgers' ace, over Lowe and Penny. occupation checklist of 26-17 yet actually 0 national interest. He gets extra desirable each month and can have thirteen or 14 wins if l. a. did no longer have the NL's worst offense. better area: he's barely a month older than Lincecum.

the most underrated pitcher in baseball is Scott Kazmir
from the day he signed with the Mets, I was a fan of his
look at him now
he's been pitching amazing since he started with the Rays
even though the Rays really suck, Kazmir deserves some Cy Young votes
Kazmir is one of my top 5 fav pitchers
he's gonna be like Pedro Martinez =D

Mark Buehrle. He has a no hitter this year!!! In my opinion he had the best no hitter too. He only walked one guy, and then picked him off. Because the White Sox stunk so much this year, he did not get a lot of attention. Although he doesn't strikeout as many guys as other pitchers do, he gets outs, and that is what really matters.

Well, until this year I would have to say Josh Beckett. Of course now he'll get his Cy Young because of the year he had and what he did to help his team. He'll pitch on 3 or 4 days rest if need be. He's the best big game pitcher in all of baseball by far. His performances have been lights out in season ending situations. On top of all that he consistently takes up good chunks of games he pitches in. Very reliable and super durable. And to back my point up, if I may use this reasoning, I've picked him up in fantasy drafts well behind the likes of Santana, Buerhle, Webb, Halladay and others. In fact I think I picked him up this last year 1 pick after I chose Papelbon in the 8th or 9th round. He'll get his respect and notoriety after this year though.

Roy Oswalt. He is among the best pitchers in the game year in and year out, but since he plays in Houston you don't hear much about him. He never had a learning curve in the big leagues, as he was good from his first start in the majors.

How about Roy Halliday--he has won the Cy Young, but not always touted like other high profile pitchers.Toronto has let him down as far spotlighting him(if they won a pennant-he would be rated even higher)-you can check his stats--always kicks my Tigers butts!

umm kenny rogers. yeah he played with a lot of teams and wasnt a big game pitcher. but during the regular season he brought it. he had a lot of success late in his career. he wont be a hall of famer but he was definitely a gamer.
