They don't want e-mail from everyone they know. There are some people, although very nice are really annoying, when it comes to e-mail protocol, they just filll up your mail box with drivil, junk senseless banter, non productive garbage. They have a lot of time on their hands, and use it filling up the e-mail boxes of those that don't always have the time to answer. So rather than offend by not answering, they simply block it/filter it.

I block my e-mail now because I received two bad experiences when I first joined up on here. First time was when some foot fetish person got a hold of me through a question and answer on P&S. The second time was from an irate and "Stupid" (my opinion) woman from P&S who did not agree with one of my "opinions" in one of my answers to someone's question and she called me dirty names and told me I was ignorant and so forth. I couldn't believe this person. I later found out she is an elementary school teacher which is quite scary, I think. After reading her "crap", I blocked my e-mail from other people, which I hated to do. It surprised me that such strange people were "out there".
Edit: someone made a comment about the spelling of "their". I am not sure what she was getting at--but you and I both know that you used this spelling correctly!

because there are some crazy people out there and you never now who or how someone will get your email and send all kinds of junk to you.
