That applies to many different types of situations.
It means that at one time, you were childlike in your way of life and experiencing the world, mostly because you didn't have enough life experience or experience in a particular situation.
With experience, you learn what reality is really like and this shapes your life attitude, perhaps you become more cynical. When that happens, you lose your innocence, meaning that you lose your childlike naivetee.
Having said that, there are many people in this world, who despite much suffering, refuse to give into cynicism and choose to presume the best. They still have a semblance of innocence and are as some would say, "without guile". Thank goodness for them when you meet them.

"lost my innocence" can mean several things. It could be when someone has an experience that opens their eyes to the "real" world.
It could also be, when a child loses something at a young age, which in a way robs them of their childhood.

The meaning of the expression originally comes from the story of Adam and Eve in the Bible. Only when they eat of the forbidden apple that the serpent tempts them with do they realize they're naked and feel shame.
Today; however, few people know the story well enough to relate its meaning back to its origin so they use it to mean:
Childhood is our period of innocence and once we learn of sex or gain carnal knowledge through participation, then we've lost our innocence forever.

RE:
What is meant by the phrase, "lost my innocence?"?
I mean, what did you do to make yourself guilty? (Seriously, what?)

Innocence, in this sense, is not the opposite of guilty. It refers to the innocence a child has, being unaware of some of the adult truths to life.
It may refer to losing one's virginity, it may refer to losing one's naivety.

i think it was a phrase developed when the idea was thought up that sex is a bad thing, saying that your first time is when you lost your innocence gives sex a negative connotation and sets a stigma against it

loss of inocence can be like an eye opener. you aren't blind to society or what is going around you. like, a rude awekinging. and after your lost of inocence you're not the same. you mature, in a sense.
