its a verse in the bible that austin just used...after he beat someone in the king of ring back in 1997 he said john 3:16 just said i whooped ur ***...and from there on austin 3:16 sings were on every monday night raw...and it became a great slogan for him...

John 3:16:For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

It was at King of the Ring 1997. He had just defeated Jake the Snake Roberts in the final. jake had been doing a bible toting gimmick and after Austin beat him pretty quickly Austin said afterwards "You may say your John 3:16, but Austin 3:16 says I just whooped your ***"

austin 3:16 was from back in the 90's and Stone Cold came out and iteruppted a superstar who was preching the bible, David 3:16 or something like that and he camre out and sai "well let me tel you about austin 3:16 because i just whooped your ***!" it was pretty awsome. of coarse not word for word because i havnt seen that video in ages but yeah. he made fun of the bible verse because someone was out there comparing it to wrestling.
