It can take less than an hour for the sperm to reach the egg and create a zygote (the first complete cell that forms to begin most life). When this happens a woman is technically pregnant because she now has the beginnings of a human baby in her body. I said technically because it will take about a week for the new life to float down the falopian tupe to the uterus and implant in the lining. Some women don't consider them selves pregnant until the life has attached to the lining of the uterus and created an umbilical chord because some times the life does not implant in the uterus (for various reasons) and just washes out on its own. Further, it will take a few more weeks to develop pregnancy hormones to be able to support the new life. This is why pregnancy tests dont work until a few weeks or so after you get pregnant because it tests for the hormones that you develop as a result of implantation in the uterus. So, depending on what you believe; after sex, you could get pregnant within an hour or a week.
As for having sex after having an abortion, it depends on how long after the abortion. If it has been 1 month after the abortion then yes (consider having an abortion similar to having a period in the way that you are eliminating an egg or what not, and so afterwards the cycle can begin again), if sooner than that, then most likely not. When a woman gets pregnant and then has a baby or has an abortion, it takes time for the pregnancy hormones to subside and allow the body to get ready to be pregnant again. Basically, if a woman has had a baby or an abortion, then has her period, and then has sex then she can definitely get pregnant.
I would suggest for a woman to NOT have sex for at least 6 weeks after having a baby or an abortion because she is prone to many types of infections, and she needs that time for her vagina and uterus to heal.

Instantly pregnant? Not... exactly like that. It takes a few days for the egg to become fertile normally, however, yes, if you have sex, you can become pregnant. After an abortion your actually more apt to become pregnant. During 4-6 weeks you should be waiting until you do it again. For one, you are apt to get pregnant again because they have opened you up inside to clean you, this stays more open for quite a few days, which makes it easier for the sperm to reach your eggs. You also need to be taking a break because you could hurt yourself and begin to bleed, similiar to when you actually have a baby, you also need a break from sex.

Getting pregnant is always happening instantly after sex.
For the abortion, it depends on if the period is started again, means doctor didn't give medications to delay the period.
and for the record, I cant get pregnant at all. Am a man.

What do you mean by instantly? You screw and then your stomach inflates? No. You can get knocked up from only screwing once, and you can get knocked up after an abortion, soon as the bleeding stops. But if you just had an abortion, why are you having sex? Did you learn nothing from that experience? or was it a fun thing you want to repeat?

While I feel abortion is a personal choice, I would imagine that any woman would have such strong emotions afterwards that they wouldn't be thinking about having sex.
Did your abortion doctor not put you on the pill?
Did you seriously have sex after an abortion?
I am seriously worried about the implications of this question. I hope its just a curiosity question.

Pregnancy doesn't happen instantly.
You could become pregnant even days after intercourse.
It depends on how fast the sperm take to reach and penetrate the egg,
Unless you have been sexually assaulted, you should not put yourself in that position if you don't want to be pregnant. Abortion is a serious undertaking.

You can get pregnant pretty much right away. And some women "feel" pregnant after sex but it takes time for the sperm and egg to do their little dance. I agree with the other two ppl who answered. Smarten up. Abortions aren't birth control babe. Good Luck.

i do not know Wat you mean by innately,you will get pregnant withing 3-to 6 minuets after sex.if every thing go well,apportion spit pregnancy according to some doctors
