Both TAPS and Most Haunted visited Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. Whereas Most Haunted goes in to 'communicate', TAPS goes in to disallow, and only when all reasonable excuses have been exhausted do they acknowledge paranormal activity. TAPS proved there is 'something' haunting Eastern State, and Most Haunted actually seemed to get run out by the supernatural. Could this be because Most Haunted seems to be more 'for show' and 'I feel your pain' sort of deal and TAPS is more analytical? Your thoughts on the authenticity of either one or the other or both.

Most Haunted is like a side show at the carnival but TAPS is more into proving if there is anything to pursue about the places they go

I put on the Most Haunted Winchester house last night then got distracted by NPR -- I literally don't remember any of it. I've always enjoyed it as just a hoot -- like the John Pertwee/Tom Baker Dr. Whos. Even down to the bad acting and juicy diatribes.

I have to be careful what I have to say about TAPS because I'm a Rhode Islander too. And like many of us who don't live there any more, I'm prejudiced against us.

Please don't think I'm accusing TAPS of dishonesty: it's just that television is very superficial period. If you grow up in a Congregationalist or some other Christian intellectual tradition you go to church and you listen to stories and lectures about the need to have faith, in addition to the need to use your reason. That background can make the whole purpose of TAPS annoying: Why are you trying to explain something which might be better understood as a mysterium anyhow? Then I remember they're getting paid for it and I'm glad they seem to be enjoying themselves.

For serious spiritual guidance I recommend a good book.

well i watch both, but my favorite is taps.i think most haunted is more for show, and they find something every where they go,and maybe that's why i don't really believe them.I'm a ghost hunter also and i know you don't find something every where.but taps on the other hand if they find nothing that's what they say.and that makes what they do find more believable.taps is my favorite show because you can believe what they say.because if they say it they can prove it.it's not like 1 knock for yes and 2 knocks for no.well i will stop now but remember just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

a guy from most haunted went public!! he stated that it's all fake !!So i don't watch it anymore. ghost hunters is for real !! try watching a haunting on, the discovery channel.all the events are, based on true facts.and what happened to those people,is very scary to say the least.

yeah i like taps, they give reasonable solutions to things they see and hear. they really look for activity and they arent trying to put on a show for rateings.

most haunted is staged and such.

taps is better because they rarely find any possible evidence. (i can't explain how the sound man's box hit him in the face :))
