If you look to nature herself, there are many animals that make others work for them. No I don't agree with the use of animals purely for entertainment, I think this is demeaning to them. But to use dogs for the purpose of guiding blind people, rescuing people gives them a purpose and from what I've seen these are some of the happiest dogs you'll see. Man is by nature a carnivore so eating animal flesh is just a natural part of our lives, but hunting for fun or to collect trophys is very very wrong. I don't agree with keeping wild animals as pets( eg. tigers, chimps etc) but cats, dogs, rabbits mice etc have been domesticated over the years and couldn't survive in the wild.

Interesting question. I definitely will subscribe to the idea that indeed the we are the highest form and the most dominant form on this planet. That is indeed a fact for humans has the highest intelligence. We used animals as what humans wanted to be because we can control them just as we wanted it to be. However, the only thing i dislike to humans is the cruelty we have done to them. We cannot deny that because animals like cow, pigs, chickens are used as food through their meat. One of the basic foods needed by man. It is man's survival after all. Using them as pets are the most gentle way man treat animals in a way.
I believe that is what we humans are.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

Homo Sapiens Sapiens (Homer Sap) is not the dominant life form on this planet. MICROBES (bacteria viruses etc.) ARE THE DOMINANT LIFE FORM ON THIS PLANET! They get us all in the end. We are their "pets," raised by them as a food source. Unless we learn how to get along with other life (including one another) on this planet, our only home, we will never be dominant anywhere.
Good luck with other life forms, good health, peace and love!

I think we are so used to it, that as a race we do´n´t stop and think about it. But I am sure that if things were the other way, we would be treated the same.
If we do it among humans it is easy to do it with animals.

it isn't but we do it anyway because we can.unless they collectively planned a rebellion and escaped to freeeeeedom!!humans are more calculating and cunning;)
putting their dead carcass into a meat processor and grinding it out to make burger patties is very cruel and makes me hurl just thinking about it,but in-n-out burgers among other restaurant burgers are delicious to some people.it's a high demand fast food industry with lots of money to make.
those white tigers and lions in vegas shows are treated like royalty and look healthy.I have seen their exhibit at the Mirage and it is like a waterfall paradise, so I would not mind being a vegas show animal.although they have a big space to roam, it still isn't big enough in comparision to their natural habitat in the wild.I think these animals are too tamed and deprived of their natural hunting skills of killing their own prey, instead of being served pre-cut & pre-prepared meals.it is like denying them of who they really are meant to be as wild animals.
some animals in the circus are treated badly because they whip them and they are like freaks.it does not seem like the elephants like prancing around doing silly monkey tricks for our twisted enjoyment.being the bigger animal, quite a few elephants have lashed out and went on rampages, so I can sense their frustration of being controlled and chained up.
I never had a pet cat or dog but I did have a pet rabbit and turtle once, who kept trying to escape everytime I let them out to play in the grass.I saw how they hated being captive so I freed my turtle in the pond at the local park and gave away my rabbit. They made me happy but I knew that they would be happier if they were free.
using animals as decorations is very sad because some people hunt and kill them just to hang them in their home and show them off like trophies.my aunt had an aquarium of tropical fishies and she went on vacation and asked me to take care of them.I noticed this yellow fish, like the one in finding nemo, who kept swimming around and around this rock decoration.then the fish started to ram his head into the rock as an attempt to suicide?! the next day, that fish sunk to the bottom of the aquarium and that was his tragic death.I was young at the time and didn't think much of it but now that I look back, it is true, fish aren't made to live in aquariums:( they need the vast space of the ocean or lakes.
whenever I went to the zoo as a kid, it was not as fun as I expected because some of the animals looked gloomy.I remember hearing this gorilla screaming as if he was angry that he was locked up in prison. It was just depressing.
seeing animals like dogs visiting nursing homes or sick children in the hospital and brightening up their day is great though.I think that is the only situation where it is okay because they are not being exploited for money or for selfish gain.
I think some people are just desensitized by it and see it as okay because some animals are rescued from the wild and were injured and rehabilitated, which is a nice thing to do.saving animals from extinction is okay but I think training them to be our puppets is just sad.

If they are, as happy, or happier than if they were left in their natural condition, or are providing a universal benefit in a humane ways, then yes we may do that. Otherwise it is contrary to ethics of commonality of feeling, and sense.
God bless.

were dominant in brain power, so i think it would be good to use it for as much good as we can.
it all depends on if the animal is being used or abused, if its right or wrong. if it involves the animals death or bad pain then i think thats on the wrong side.

i am not justifying my acts by adopting this stance. but i am reinstating the fact that we are higher order beings and that the animals are created so that we can rule over them.
Genesis 1:26---And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
i believe these words.
