I'm 16, and always had vaginal "issues". I had a yeast infection when I was 12. Throughout the years though, I always experience regular itching. Especially right after my period, it gets really bad. I have some discharge, but it's been generally white or clear. I don't think it's a yeast infection again, and it's not an STD or anything. What can I do to feel better?

The hormone changes around your period do make you more suceptable to yeast infections, and this is the most likely cause. I'd get some thrush cream (clotrimazole, nystatin) or a fluconazole tablet from your pharmacist and if that doesn't clear it up, you could get a swab taken by your doctor.

You should try buying the kit from the drug store for yeast infections. My mother's friend always got a yeast infection after her period too. I guess some women get them more easily than others. If it really bothers you, try going to a gynocologist and see if they can help you.

I sometimes have that problem too, and I don't think it's yeast either, because it always goes away after a few days. I think it's caused by pads or tampons, being there, and it starts irritation, especially if you like to fold a pad in half and sort of place it inside. I do that sometimes, and it seems like that's when I get the itchiness, Now I usually just use unscented tampons. I haven't had problems in awhile.....Hope that helped some. :)

see a specialist first.
Some women get a skin condition called lichens on and sometimes in the vaginal area. It is usually treated with clobetasol cream.

Make sure that you use unscented laundry soap and rinse twice. White cotton undies is also a good idea.

Use a mild cleaning product live Aveeno or dove unscented.
Rinse well and pat dry.
Try not to be overly stressed.

Could still be a yeast infection but please let your mom know what's going on and also see your doctor to see what they say.

Try rubbing some neosporn on your private. It's probaly just irratating because of your period. You might wanna see a doctor, though.

Good luck, hon. :D
