Nickelback is considered a rock group now. Just look them up on Wikipedia. Some of their earlier songs were considered country.

Nickelback was a cover rock band first. They are MOST DEFINITELY a rock band now. I am shocked that people even consider they have country roots after "Figured You Out" and "Animals". The conservative country crowd would riot if they played those records at the Grand Old Opry.
Nickelback played a cover of Joe Nichols' "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" on their live show in Nashville, but this does NOT suggest Chad Kroeger has gone country.

They are permanently rock, but they have some partial country style. Chad does rock in his solos, but he alternatively goes country somehow along the way. "Never Gonna Be Alone" sounds like country.

They aint country. I seen it on CMT also. I don't think that they should play it on CMT since it is "COuntry Music Television". I like Nickelback but not when they paly it on CMT
