everyone always talks about the influence these two left on the game, and how they influence other artists to be like them, imitate their flows, etc. but is that influence still relevant today? can you name any rappers to come out in the past 5 years with music thats sounds like it was anything remotely influenced by Biggie or Pac? yet take the same rappers to come out the past 5 years and i guarantee it will be more stuff influenced by someone like Jay-z.

and what about Eazy E, who some would call the godfather of gangsta rap..you think anyone (outside of The Game; who seems to be influenced by every past legend) has a major influence on rappers today, and im not talkin ppl who are just a fan of his, but people who listen to his work and strive to equal that greatness?

I was thinking the same thing... at least about Pac and BIGs influence. I think that more rappers nowadays are more influenced by Jay-z and Nas, even Eminem, artists copped his style more than people realize. I think the legends have shifted to the newer school.

And I cant think of any artists that have ever sounded much like Eazy, he seems to be more admired then imitated.

Ice T is the godfather of gangsta rap. There are others but not that well known..Schooly D is one. All that acting, people forget what he used to did 20 years ago (by the way, like Tupac, were east coast transplants), but did a great job crossing over into speed metal/hardcore punk (bands like Anthrax and Beastie Boys crossed over from metal and punk roots) and created one of the most controversial songs of the 90s.

Not so much Eazy E but NWA created a wake. What the Pistols did in the UK and was seen as a cartoon in the US, NWA succeeded in at the end of the 80s, and like the Pistols, imploded due to management issues.

Biggie and Tupac's work is still relevant lyrically, the songs are still played at the clubs, and people still get on the dance floor when their songs are on.

If you really study hip hop. You will find that its like a family tree. For example some say Lil Wayne was influence by Jay-Z. That makes Jay his rap father. Jay Z was influenced by B.I.G. Which would make him Waynes rap grandfather. Big was influenced, along with most the industry, by Rakim. Making Rakim Waynes rap Great Grandfather. As far as direct influence. It would be hard to say because for example Wayne was fifteen when biggie died. Him and most rappers in the industry in his generation already have a style mapped out by that age meaning they couldnt learn from biggie because he wasnt on the scene when Wayne was first starting to rap. Its my generation people age 20 and below that directly learn from Biggie because we were learning to rap around the time he came out.

no person There hasn't been a rapper that has relatively taken over the full type; Biggie - in simple terms got here out with 2 albums till his untimely dying. no longer adequate time to be crowned as king 2 p.c. - replaced into huge on the west coast, yet relatively wasn't as enormous everywhere else. yet he ought to be in a communicate which comprise this. Eminem - "the excellent white wish" has relatively been in the sport, nor has he eclisped it (possibly with suburban white youngsters! LOL). Jay Z - music sensible his albums are extra effective than solid, yet i does no longer say he may be a "king of rap". His marriage to Beyonce, the Nas pork, and becoming president of Def Jam made him who he's. I, IMO, hasn't seen absolutely everyone rapper that has close the full marketplace down. yet while there replaced right into a "crowning" you need to comprise: LL Cool J and Too short - Have transcended 3 a protracted time Ice cube - Went from a mythical and arguably between the suitable communities (NWA) to hip hop superstardom with 2 or 3 5 mic albums Scarface - See above, his team replaced into the Geto Boys

Yes Biggie was just a straight up a tight lyricist and story teller in fact he influenced Jay on not to write rhymes and just rap off the top of his head clearly ahead of his time and 2pac rapped about the struggle he made you feel good like no matter how hard life was you will get through it and the females loved him and Eazy-E was unique no one sounded like him.

As for 2pac, he has lots of followers (or at least that's the impression that I got...). Many rappers are his fans and they try to be like him. I'm not sure but I think that both 50 cent and Eminem are trying to be like Pac (it's another story that they have nothing to do with the way he sounded or with his lyrics...).

Actually I can't name not one rapper that has something similar with 2pac, Biggie, Eazy E, or someone else that is a past legend.

I remember that Lil' Kim did a remake to one of Biggie's song. (I'm sure that there are many others but that's on my mind right now) so I guess people want to be like them. All rappers know that they were famous when they were alive and even now, when they are dead. They admire their work but I guess no one will be able to create the same music as 2pac and Biggie did.

It's going to be the fans who want to be like them, but not one of them will be capable to become as good as them ;))

I read your question. lol
I'm sure there's some underground Artist/Groups, but I really can't think of any Artist that came out in the last five years to be influenced by Pac, BIG or Eazy E (that I know of). Good question, makes me think now.
