I'M SHOUTING THIS LOUD AND REALLY CLEAR, JUST SO THERE IS NO MIS-UNDERSTANDING OR MISTAKING MY MESSAGE....

Okay, here I go... Will all you teachers who manage to read this, please pass this message on to your students.

1) There are no such things as alien beings walking amongst us.

2) There are no extra-terrestrial spaceships on the moon.

3) Our radio signals cannot be detected and demodulated by alien (message me and I'll give you the technical reasons as to why not) beings.

4) For the sake of common sense, educate your students, and give them some sort of education that will give them the skills they will need for their future benefit, and that of mankind.
5) Tell these things to your students every day, so that they won't come into the science and history answer forum and ask questions as if they were three-year-olds.
Remember. Students are only as wise and as educated as YOU make these people... Get a grip, you're being paid.

Thank you for your time.
Antony

I wish I could rate a 'thumbs- up' for a question...
How intriguing!
Anthony, it's a sad state when we have to admit to things like this, but you are correct... to a point.
Remember that all humans, no matter how well they are taught and challenged in school, will develop and maintain a set of ideas and standards they consider to be their own.
Right or wrong, it happens.
It happens to everyone.
It happened to me.
It happened to you.
To attempt to lay blame on the teachers in this world for the kids' goofy thinking and actions, in my own humble opinion, isn't quite fair.
I'm no teacher, but I've admired the vast majority of the ones I've had in my life.
I prefer to think in simpler terms when it comes to matters such as these.
Look around you and see what kind of crap the kids today are being constantly bombarded with...
MTV
Reality shows (yeah, right!)
School shootings
62% divorce ratings
Bush

It's not the teachers who are the only formative figures in young lives, it involves the entire world with all of its sick trappings.
Great question... You get a star.

Hey, just an addition to this same line of thinking: our school system is f***ed up. My sister is a high school senior, and I have not heard her mention anything she has learned in school. (I went to the same high school and graduated in three years, because the requirements were so low.) Her entire existence is centered around sports and her boyfriend. There is no excitement about learning in America, all we are concerned with is entertainment, sports and marriage. It may not be right, but that's the way it is. We do have a lot of famous athletes, although I'm not sure any of them can outrun or span the technological gap that's soon to come between us and other countries.

It is so sad that you are 100% correct.
The US fails to educate more than half of its population in the most basic cultural techniques like reading, writing and simple math. Not to mention history, literature, political and social sciences (most don't even seem to know their own constitution) and let's not talk about science.

What a crying shame.

Hi. "2) There are no extra-terrestrial spaceships on the moon." True, but there are extra-lunar vehicles. And on Mars, Venus, a comet or two. Soon on the moons of Jupiter and Saturn. Imagination works both ways.

This kind of talk is typical of the education that can be found in a working class schooling system. No imagination, no thinking for yourself, just follow directions and say "yes sir".
The real advancement of mankind will come when every student has the education that supports the students working through things and thinking for themselves. Leaders, not followers.
For someone who thinks he's quite smart, you really are an idiot.

The first 3 statements of your "question" cannot be proven by you.
I see them as opinions and agree with your first 2 opinions, but I will not endorse them as fact.

6) Man really did land on the moon and there is plenty of proof of this fact. And there is NO proof to the contrary.

Speaking from teaching experience, you can lead a horse to water, but . . .

Especially when I read questions on here that say things like "But my dad told me it it was a hoax".
