It only takes one racist to make an entire region appear racist. Until race becomes a non-issue and people of all races can live without derogatory distinguishing then racism will continue in the States. Until that happens the least racist place in the States is in the middle of the Great Salt Lake.

I believe New York, or else states on the west coast, oregon, california, washington. I live in Oregon, and there is a ton of diversity. Probably because this is where a lot of immigrants come to.

Unfortunately there is nowhere in the US where you will not run into ignorant people from time to time, but I would say a metropolitan area like NYC is less racist than most smaller towns.

You are going to run into racism no matter where you live. I have lived all of ther US. It would proabably be a big city. I live near Seattle and I do not see much racism of any kind. People here tend to me more tolerant to people I think.

Us liberal, tree huggers out here in Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon. We're not racist out here; we're gay/lesbian friendly; 80% of our young mothers nurse their babies and if they do so in public and we think it's cool. We don't get excited if you smoke a little weed and we're generally pretty cool about most things. Just don't pollute our rivers or cut down our trees or we'll kick your butt.

hawaii, new york, california. but there are often ignorant racist people here and there. so i guess there are no place that are safe from racism.
