You can't drift on a dirt road, you can only slide, it really isn't the same thing. Just as you can't drift on ice, you can only skid.
Now off-road rally drivers, they are a different breed, they can drift when rally racing on dirt roads and on winter roads. Still, many of them, no matter how experienced, go off the road into ditches, the bush, or even roll over. It happens to several vehicles each and every race. If you aren't a trained and experienced rally driver, your chances of leaving that dirt or ice road are about 99.9%. Your chances of injury are almost as high.

Well comparing peeling out on dirt vs pavement well then the dirt would be less harmful because you get less traction and when u peel out the tires just get lots of that loose dirt and spin instead of on concrete that u have better traction and its rougher causing your tires to be wasted prematurely when u spin them (more friction). Drifting is another thing though when u drift on dirt unless u are experienced driver then u are askin for a body shop estimate or hospital bills bcuz on dirt road u dnt no wat 2 expect it can be real good traction or really bad depending on the road. Also the path the car follows when drifting on concrete is almost predictable unlike in dirt roads bcuz of the conditions of the road.

Pavement is better on the suspension. Dirt can easily damage your car's platform and make the tires pop- unless you have off- road or all- season tires, and a re-worked sport suspension. Good Luck.

Yes, it is bad on your car, but doing it on pavment is worse, cuz you have more traction. Drifting is awesome, but bad for your vehicle.
