Without any catastrophic event peace will never come. Most of the powerful nation do not want peace for others.

The only way there will ever be world peace is if every one had the same beliefs and opinions. Unfortunately that is not the case in our world. There are so many different beliefs and opinions about other beliefs that it would be impossible to achieve world peace in our society today. If everyone could be tolerable of others beliefs it might be possible.
