He's not technically "in" the house....he lives in the backyard and only comes inside when it's winter and really cold at night to sleep......his name is River and we found him on the side of the road all starving and shaking; thought he was a mutt but we're told he's probably mostly Boykin Spaniel.
We have two cats in the house (adopted strays) and will be picking up our third, this time a purchased pedigreed Norwegian Forest Cat, in early Jan.

Yes and she is laying here snoring louder than the tv. In a little while she will get up and go stand beside the bed and grunt (yes like a pig hehe) until I decide to pick her fat butt up and put her on it. She's 12 and has arthritis in her hips but still has the mind of a puppy.

No, we've got cats, fish & pocket pets. Our companion rats are kinda like tiny little dogs-- they jump around all happy & lick our faces. Rats are much smarter & sweeter than many ppl give them credit for.
We do talk about adopting a dog when we meet the right one for our multi-species family.
