REALITY CHECK
How do you know whan things are real?
How can you tell? Is it how it makes you feel?
What is the truth that lies deep within?
Lots of good people run anround and sin
Where is the brotherhood with its unspoken vow?
Where do I find comfort?I'd like to know now.
Who can you trust, when everyone lies?
What a mess we are in, why even try?
I stand all alone and look up to the sky
I yell up to nothing, to just tell me why
I ask and I ponder if He hears me up there
Please send me a sign and show me you care
Then the breeze blows across my sun reddened face
Now feelings of love, the saddness replaced
I get on my knees and thank creation and all it has been
Then head homeward bound, and start over again.

If it's simple, person-to-person audience you are trying for, you aced it.

If you wanted Martina McBride or Darlene Zschech to cut it for an album, it may be awhile.

Nice little story with an uplifting conclusion. Sums up the age old question-Why? Then...redemption
You'll feel a release if you try to free yourself from having to rhyme.
