I'm listing my platform for if I was running for president, would you vote for me?

Question

1. Stop illegal immigration! Build the border fence and post 100,000 National Guard troops along the border.
2. Pull most U.S. troops out of Iraqi hotspots and just bomb the heck out of known insurgent hideouts. We have Cruise missiles, hellfire missiles and Abrams Tanks. Use them and quit sending U.S. troops in without softening up the enemy first with air raids and artillery fire.
3. Stop the import of Chinese and foreign made good illegally and unfairly. Start supporting U.S. manufacturers and make it so that for every 1 Chinese made product, there is 3 U.S. made.
4. Strengthening U.S. force levels by increased funds and incentives. Promote honor and integrity over money and self.
5. Stop taxing companies that make their products here. Give tax breaks to businesses that make their products solely in the U.S.
6. Lower taxes on everyone.
7. Stop taxing the rich simply for being productive and making a good living. I'll list more if they arise. Would you vote for me?

You know, I think that people have gotten so used to the Democrat lie that rich people are all useless bums that get rich off of poor people. You know, some people have gotten rich via their own ingenuity and hard work. I am not rich, in fact my father and two sisters are having to work to keep our family afloat. However, taxing the rich is not the answer, we need to help small business to keep people working and earning money.

Also, Iraq is not a Civil War, have you read the newspapers or seen the news channels lately, Sunnis and Shias are turning against insurgents. And if we gradually ween orselves off of China, we can do it. I have seen the ingenuity of the American people and I know that we can do anything we put our minds to. By the way, how do you know the Natl. Guard doesn't work if you don't try it?

You people are the reason for the decline of the American economy. You want to tax the rich, buy cheap products from China, undervalue our military, and yet you complain about not earning enough money. If you don't want to buy more expensive American goods, how do you expect to earn more money? It has been proven that more high paying jobs are manufacturing jobs than any service job. Dispute it if you want, but it's true.

No -- posting National Guard doesn't work -- nor does building a border fence -- both are impractical, way too costly, and don't solve a significant part of the problem.

Bombing insurgent hotspots = bombing villages and neighborhoods. Iraq is in a civil war -- anyone is a potential insurgent, unless they are a govt solider. And "insurgents" are not anywhere close to the same as "terrorists". Nor are they a threat to the US -- other than us attacking them in their back yard.

We don't have the resources or personnel to compete economically with over a billion people in China -- and we certainly cannot do it by cutting off trade with 1/6th of the world's population.

We stop taxing companies and we stop taxing people -- meaning we shut down 90% of the US govt -- that I can live with.

Most certainly not, because:
(1) that is prohibitively expensive and inefficent, fails to address the cause of the problem, and will not stop people from trying.
(2) You can't bomb an idea. The more martyrs there are, the more people join insurgent groups. The less people that can see that US soldiers are "just like them," the less they'll feel like cooperating. Without ground-based intelligence, civilian deaths would rise drastically.
(3) Consumers don't like tariffs. Prohibitive tariffs - like on tea and molasses - were one of the main causes of the American Revolution. I assume you don't want another.
(4) Where will the money come form?!?
(5, 6, 7) You can't increase funding AND cut taxes!

I disagree with current policies strongly, but unfortunately yours are even more ineffective and naive. Sorry. If you disagree with a point feel free to e-mail and I can elaborate.

I would not vote for you although you do have a couple good ideas. 1 and 4. I am a Demarcate, but do not believe we should tax the rich just because they are rich. Thew rich or Republicans are not the enemy. How about giving the middle class and lower class a tax break?> Great question
