Subtitled is always better in my opinion. Sometimes the actors speaking English don't get the correct inflection right or emotion. Sometimes the English voice actors are just too "cartoony" for my tastes. It is a complete difference in cultures and sometimes it doesn't translate, especially to those that don't have any connections to Japanese culture and are just reading lines.

The subbed one will be better. The way they speak their lines is entirely different from the dubbed one. It will be more fun to watch and listen to the original voice of the characters. Especially this is The melancholy of haruhi suzumiya. The voice of kyon is just so funny that there can't be any replacements and sometimes the way the dubbers say japanese names is so embarrassing to hear that you will laugh hard.

Next time wait more than 30 minutes, and this question is at least off the front page before reposting.

Anyways, the subbs are better. Especially when you see the concert at the end, the singing is much better in Japanese audio.
