I was gonna say....ask a pharmacist. If they said it's ok then it should be. They do make prenatal vitamins in liquid.

Just a minor suggestion if you dont want to crush them~

I tried a couple different vitamins until I found one that was right for me.

I'm taking One Source Prenatal vitamins. I buy them at walmart for about ten bucks and take two a day (usually at once. They are small vitamins, and dont upset my stomach nor do I choke on them (like other horse pill vitamins I've tried lol)

I'm also taking Expecta once a day which is mainly a DHA supplement since you cant eat many kinds of fish. Its supposedly great for baby's eyesight and brain development.

All in all... my 3 pills a day have been great for me! (just dont take the DHA pill without eating... you will have a constant nasty fish taste in the back of your throat when you burp lol.

Hope this helps!

You are not suppose to crush them, but if the pharmacists said it is okay I don't see why not.

But what I don't understand is why didn't they offer you a SMALLER pill? The ones I take are VERY small!! I take OneSource Prenatal vitamins, over the counter, doctor recommended them because I was having a problem with drainage in the morning gagging me and she wanted me to take something smaller. These are a little smaller then tylenol!!!

Also read the label. Mine say do not crush or chew so if you are not suppose to crush the ones you have it will say it right on the bottle. But I just suggest switching down to a smaller pill until you can swallow the ones you have!!

Absolutely. Most women have problems with prenatal vitamins because they all look like they were made for horses. As long you crush them right before you take them, you don't lose any of the mineral value in the vitamin. Congrads on your pregnancy.

If the pharmacists says it's ok then it must be. If you have any further doubts talk to your doctor. I had the same problem and he told me to take 2 flintstone chewables a day and that has worked out really good for me.

They are just vitamins, so yes it is ok. The only reason you should not crush some meds, like allegra D is because they are a special time release tablet and crushing them would make you release too much at once.

No problem, as long as they are vitamins. I have a degree in medication administration and treatment and used to do this with patients all the time who could swallow pills. The only concern you should have is when you are given meds which come in time release capsules, such as allergy or cold meds.

It really doesn't matter what form the vitamins are in when they enter your body, just that they enter it and you keep them down. So if you can handle it taking them crushed, by all means crush them. Personally, I kept throwing mine up for the whole pregnancy--and I tried everything to keep them down. But thankfully my baby came out just fine. Good luck and congratulations!
