There's a lot of talk up here right now about the Bills playing games here, and what it might mean. Do you think there's any chance the NFL would give Toronto a team in the future? I'd love to see it, but what's in it for the NFL, considering they've got an amazing structure already in place?

Personally, I can't believe anyone would prefer the CFL, but here in Alberta it's pretty popular. If it was up to me, I'd trade in the whole CFL for the chance to have one team in Canada.

One of the big things I'm wondering about - where is the financial benefit for the NFL?

Its not improbable to think that one day they would place a franchise up there....but they also played a game in Mexico and will be playing a game in London. I thinks its too early to tell and I think if they did move a team, they would look at viable U.S. locations first.

I think that the neither the CFL or the NFL will try and offset each other's monopolies in their respective network. And with this new Football league rumored to start next season, the NFL will have media competition. The CFL is safe for now, but it is inevitable, that they will expand to include North America ( US, canada, and yes even Mexico). What kind of professional sports league would it be if it did not go to canada?

The Bills want to play home games in Toronto to expand their fan base. Toronto is a possible NFL city, and would have an instant rivalry with Buffalo and Detroit. It also makes it easier to expand back into LA if they can wndo all the legal knots.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised by Canadian expansion. But at the same time, it looks like with the team in Buffalo that area might be saturated. And the current Bills wouldn't let a new team go to Toronto...I really don't know the situation up there, but I'd think ownership would move to Toronto before letting another club set up shop there.

Yes the CFL is very popular. I was in Calgary around 2001 and i think i was in the middle of one of their playoff games, and the place was hopping. Might i add what a tremendous place it is, a best kept secret in my mind. Tons of people sport the Stampede sticker on their cars and trucks. NFL would thrive there i would imagine.
