I get very good marks and I would like to go to Oxford. How much will this cost? Are certain areas of study easier to get into?

To study at Oxford you would need have already achieved, three A-Levels or other equivalent academic qualifications. In Canada you would need at least 85% in OSSDs from Ontario, or equivalent grades from other provinces for your application for admission to be considered.

The tuition fees will vary depending on what you choose to study, you can find the cost of these on the following website.

On top of the tuition fees you will need to budget for around £7000 - £10,000 per year for living costs which includes accommodation, food, books, medical insurance, spending money and transportation etc.

There are no areas of study which are easier to get gain admission into. Oxford is the top university in the United Kingdom and ranks up there in league tables with Harvard and Yale, so the competition is very fierce for every single available place.

Your chances are not bad if you apply after having graduated from a Canadian or American college ( especially if you get a Rhodes, Marshall or other scholarship ).

Your chances of being admitted right out of a Canadian high school are probably not good. Oxford is a three-year program and has different requirements for entering students than North American universities and colleges.

Best bet is to consult your school guidance counselor. That's what they're there for. Oxford is an exceptional school, and if you're determined, that's all that matters. Since you'll be a foreign student, of course tuition will be pricey, but see if you can go for a scholarship, or apply for aid. There are a lot of options if you do your research. Good luck!
