Just telling you guys I'm not wanting to end my life. Anyway I'm a first LT of the US Marines stationed in Iraq and was expecting to go home in 4 days. Guess what my Colonel gave me some bad news and says that my squadron has to stay in this hell hole for 6 more months. If that wasn't bad enough about a week ago while were on patrol I told my brother to scout an area and he gets snipered and dies. I was suppose to attend his funeral when I get back but then can't because of this. I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter who I haven't seen about a year and a beautiful wife. I haven't told them yet but will soon. This kinda sucks big time. I actually cried.

I had know idea this is what they were doing with you guys.So much is being hidden from us,we only here what they want us to hear. I feel so bad for you guys being over there where anyone could kill you at anytime. As a mother of a 26 year old boy my heart breaks when ever i watch a special on HBO about what you men are going through. I know even HBO is limited what they can show. I know this doesn't help but know this you have every American on your side and we stand behind you guys. It's a shame our president won't give in an inch about getting you men out of there. We want our men home where you belong,I'm so sorry about your bother. To hear you have 6 more months in that heat infested hostile place is to much for anyone to take but what can you do but take it like the men you are. Please hang in there and know that you have this mother behind you and praying for you and your squadron to come home safe and sound.

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. My cousin was the Marines and was one of the first to go into Iraq. He was there for about 6 months, but luckily got to come home and he got out as quickly as possible.

My heart really goes out to you and your family. My brother just recently joined the Air Force and was given a pilot's slot. So thankfully he has another 3 years or so of flight training before he can really do anything.

You will definitely be in my prayers. And thank you for fighting for us!

so sorry you lost a brother and have to do this.. remember there are millions of us who want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what your doing for our country.. i am sure your heart sunk with you got that news. but try to pick yourself back up and stay focused for yourself and your brothers and sisters with you. i hope you and your family can use web cams to see each other and talk. i am sure your wife is going to be very disappointed and its ok to cry. real men do cry. it takes a lot off you if you do cry now and then. i will pray for yours and all of them for there safety. do your best to keep up beat and remember everyone back home is waiting for your return and are very proud of you.. when ever i see a man or woman in uniform i always stop them and ask to shake there hands and say thank you. and if i could touch your hand i would say thank you that way to you also but words will have to do. god bless you and your family for what they must go through also to protect us. :o)

You are feeling sad i know. Your brother understands and attending his funeral does not mean you cared less. Goodbye's are more than attending a funeral. It was your relationship with him while he was alive that mattered. Your daughter will understand and be proud that you took on a position to protect not just her but all of us. I am certain your wife is equally proud and will understand.

I couldn't say much but to sympathies with you. I do understand your feeling of extreme frustration so why not you quit and go back to your family and live a peaceful life. Fighting in Iraq for what? for America? for Bush? for your Family? for your dead brother? for your friend? No No No No is the answers for all. Iraq is not your enemy. It is all about religious war........they are all mad fanatics so why you make yourself mad too.
