I'm not surprised in the last, just wish it had been in the books. I actually can really imagine him being gay, makes total sense.

I love that she FINALLY said she portrayed Dumbledore as gay, seriously, for someone with so much power over teenagers, and a few younger kids everywhere, it just takes that one bigger step to showing that there's nothing wrong with being gay. I think that she was really courageous to even say such a thing, since so many people ALREADY thought of her books as evil, and that people would go to hell for reading them. It's almost like Jo is rebelling against these people's opinions just for a fight. I could just imagine some amazing shouting match between Jo and a huge crowd of bigoted Christians.

I wonder if Dumbledore ever saw himself and Grindlewald in the Mirror of Erised, kind of freaky thought there...

He's got a magic wand which increase in size when you caress it and you just have to shake it to obtain the magic fluid.

Christians wanted to crucify JKR because of apology of witchcraft, now, they surely want to burn her to have made a gay man a so great caracter.

After all, there is so mutch gay british since the 19th century, so why not the wizard of Hogwharts

I absolutely love this news. I just love how accepting JK Rowling is, and I know it's ridiculous to feel so passionately about a fictional character, but this makes me love him even more.

Viva Dumbledore!

We know now that he was driven by love (and the loss of that love to someone going to the dark side). I think it was an admirable choice for JK, it's a nice addition to the dimension of the character.

Oh. My. God. I just about died laughing after I read that....seriously. I think I stopped breathing for a minute.

Now I actually want to read the books...

Personally, I'm glad Rowling added a gay character into Harry Potter, especially one so big. I think it's great for our community even if she does get hell for it. And you know what? It gives this generation a good gay role model to look up to--we don't have enough.

Woohoo!

OMG! i thought it would be neville longbottom ,but never dumbledore. i found it a bit weird honesty (not that im anti-gay or anything ) at first i said its kinda weird harry potter spent so much hours with him alone. but then i said pedophile doesn't mean gay, right?

Holy crap.

My roommate told me about this, but I thought it was just internet rumors!

::falls down laughing:: Okay, I'm a bit annoyed this comes out *now* instead of in the actual books, but wtf.

And now - the *explosion* of Dumbledore/Grindelwald pr0n that you know is going to happen in the next week.

Also, I love that she even acknowledges the pr0n fanfic and apparently thinks it's funny. God damn, do I love that woman.

wow. I mean looking back I can see it but I guess I never really gave his sexual orientation any thought before. That's just awesome. Way to go J.K. Rowling We need more people like her on our side. I love her comment. "Not everyone likes her work, Rowling said, likely referring to Christian groups that have alleged the books promote witchcraft. Her news about Dumbledore, she said, will give them one more reason."

I think that it is funny, and I can't wait to read about all of the controversy!

Now when some goofball says "harry potter is gay..." they will actaully be right for a change!
