Call the doctors office before you do anything! Don't give a one month old prune juice...their bodies are not ready to handle that yet. You can try putting one of the babies blankets in the dryer to warm it up and then lay it across their stomach. My friend had a baby recently and the nurse in the hospital nursery told her to try that if the baby didn't go to the bathroom.

If she's breastfed, then she only needs to poop once every several days. If she's formula fed, then she should be going everyday. Newborns have runny stools, they are not hard. Newborns tend to "push" real hard because they dont know how hard they need to push. Do not give her any juice, it may upset her stomach. Babies should not have juice until they are at least 6 months old, but really it's best to hold off until they are at least 12 months, as there is no nutritional value in it to a baby.

I wouldn't give her prune juice at 1 month. If there is a 24 hour pharmacy in your area, I would call and ask the pharmacist what you can do.

No, you should TAKE HER TO A DOCTOR.
Prune juice is not safe for babies tat aren't ready to start problems and constipation under 6 weeks of age can be a sign of a serious problem.

If its not a regular problem you can give her a little prune juice i think i would dilute it tho .. you could have a runny mess on your hands .. I give my son Fleet Suppostories (sp?) and they work well and its only a matter of mins before they work .. They are cheap in cost ,less than 2 bucks and for an infant your daughters age you can break them in half .. If she tends to get constipated alot i would call her Dr it could be something in her formula or if breastfeeding monitor what your taking in as it could effect her stools .. Good Luck :)

I just asked my Pediatrician today and she said that it is fine. She recommended 1 ounce of prune juice and 3 oz formula mixed together once a day.
Call your Dr.

I would call her doctor or a local hospital's after hours service... 1 month is too young to do that without the help of a medical professional. You could also try glycerin suppositories.

The answers here are about 50/50, so anything I said would be pointless.
The best advice is to call the doctor; this is a very young child.

No prune juice!!
You can stick a thermometer in her butt to help her push.

yes it is, give her 1 once with warm water mix. that should open her up, in no time. worked well on my daughter. I also after getting her open gave her baby juice regularly to keep her regular. and a bottle of water also will help to keep her regular.
