I tried to apply to other schools but they would take me based on my race and gender. My friends tell me how great it is in their schools and i really wish i can be in one of those big, exciting schools. My school is smaller than my elementary school! because it once was an elemetary school and they made it into highschool about twenty years ago. well, i feel trapped and i feel like i can have a better high school experience if i went to a big school. when they say " highschool is suposed to be the best four years of your life" it's not for me andi t's like impossible because my school is so small. i feel like if i cannot enjoy these years, i'm missing out on life. there is like nothing after highschool, only more stress. how can i make myself feel better other than to focus on work? and am i missing out on a good highschool experience?

First off, even if you could go to a larger high school with many more people doesn't mean you're going to be happier there. Quite often in larger schools there is more peer pressure, more 'inside' little groups that won't accept you, more chances that you'll encounter bullies or thieves or drug users, and so on.

What you should understand is that high school will mean little when you get out into the real world. Ten years or twenty years from now you'll be married perhaps, with kids of your own perhaps, exploring the world, fighting some war somewhere, embarking on a new job, buying a house or any other kind of possibility and life back in high school will seem so unimportant.

High school should be for preparing you for your future. It should not be all about how many or how few kids are at a certain school.

You might not be to the point where the future means much to you but you might want to consider that you've lived only 15% of your life so far and the other 85% of the rest of your life will have nothing to do with what you did or did not do in high school.

I suggest you be happy where you are, make as many friends there as you can and focus on the things that will enable you to have a wonderful future away from high school.

Enjoy the life you have.

You need to make the best of things where you are. Look for an interesting club or sport and join it. If you have friends at the other high schools, hang out with them outside of school. You should also make an effort to make friends at your current school.

Small schools have certain advantages over larger schools. You can get to know everyone in your class. It makes for a more intimate high school experience.

Now let's dispense with this notion of high school being the best four years of your life. There are all kinds of wonderful experiences after high school. There's college for one. Then there's being in your twenties. You can try out all kinds of different jobs before you settle into a career. If you're looking for adventure, you could join the Peace Corps or something like that. There's falling in love with the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, and having a baby! There's all kinds of wonderful experiences after high school. It's not the best four years of your life. The best is yet to come.

Ohhh. I'm on the same boat as you! I lived in a city all my life and was used to large schools then when I went to high school my family shifted to the country.
My school is really small and it's kinda hard finding people you get along with. And there is jack all to do!
But high school isn't necessarily the best four years of your life, the age you are when you go there is. So try making other friends out of school and hang out with them and make the most of it. That's what I learnt!

You can be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond. Your choice. If you are not enjoying your years in high school, it is because you are choosing not to. Get involved in activities, sports, and clubs. Determine your interests and pursue them. Not everything has to be related to school. If your interests take you outside school, fine; pursue that, too. Just don't waste your time feeling sorry for yourself. Go do something!

the one knowledge to being in a gigantic university is that now not every person is aware of you and your small business. It makes it less difficult to be your self, and every person has extra freedom to be who they desire to be cuz there are extra crowds to "have compatibility" into. (theres extra comformity than a few young adults like to confess). If you are in a small university, you could have the higher hand in schooling. There is most of the time much less pupils consistent with elegance, which permits the instructor to awareness on each and every scholar. Im in a significant university and a few categories are jam-packed and problematic to control. Thankfully, this 12 months im in AP categories, so there are much less pupils consistent with elegance. So the query is: do you care extra approximately your social existence or your schooling? that is extra essential to you? I recognize socializing is essential. believe me, i want i would spend extra time with my peers. But you are going to consistently produce other method of socializing. Besides, in a small university, you continue to have methods of getting amusing. School isnt the one position to hang around.
