I was 18 and pregnant with my daughter (now almost 6). I was scheduled for an ultrasound at the OB/GYN's office (first appointment of the morning). I was so excited, because it was hopefully the day that I would find out the sex of my baby. My mom was so upset over my pregnancy, but she said she would feel somewhat better if the baby were a girl. (She was afraid a boy would remind her too much of the child's father, lol.)

A family friend picked me up early that morning to drive me to the doctor, and we were discussing my pregnancy on the way. She had the radio on, and suddenly it mentioned something about a plane crash. I remember that we were both startled and confused. At the time they didn't give any other information...I don't think they knew it was a terror attack.

We arrived at the OB/GYN and I went in for my ultrasound. The tech lady was patient, and we tried to get my baby to move a bit so we could determine the sex. Finally she got a clear picture and saw that my baby was a girl! I was so excited about this news. It was the best moment of my whole pregnancy (got pregnant at 17, and the 27 year old father left me when he found out I was pregnant, and spent my whole pregnancy trying to make me abort, which I refused to do). I was just thrilled to be having a daughter, and hoped that the prospect of a granddaughter would change my mom's attitude. (It actually did, they're very close now.)

I came out of the back all bubbly and couldn't wait to share my news with the family friend. But she informed me that while I was back there, another plane had crashed and it was a terror attack! Obviously the mood of the day went from cheery to horrified. My heart still goes out to everyone who lost a loved one on 911.

I was getting ready for work early around 8:30 or so when my husband called me from his work and told me to turn on CNN and see what was happening. There was not too much info at the time but I kept watching and I saw the second plane hit the second tower on TV. It was the most devesting thing I ever saw. I went to work and it was like life stopped. NO phones rang and we just sat and watched TV.

I was at work as a vet tech and my roommate was returning from Germany that afternoon. I was suppose to pick her up at Dullas Airport in Fairfax VA. I finally got a hold of Lutunsa, the airline she was traveling on, and found out she had landed in Canada. She stayed there until Saturday evening. Our office stayed open all day until our regular closing time. People that had appointments cancelled but government workers came home and called and made new appointments. One of the longest days of my life. It felt very much like the day that President John Kennedy was assassinated.

I had my first business trip to NYC and i was there staying next to the Empire State building. We were really scared cause we thought the planes that were not accounted for may crash some where else in the city. It was the most serial event in my life.
I never knew what the towers were til the night before and I was sitting on the roof top of my hotel.

I was at school. All I remember is that we didn't have to do much work that day which was cool, but then I was mad because after school all the tv stations just kept playing the same damn clip over and over again instead of their regular programing. It was old news by lunch!! I also thought it was kind of ironic because finally, someone struck back at America. Stand up to bullies isn't that what Americans tell their children?

Being an Australian, it was about 11pm at night, so my missus and I were lying in bed watching tv.

We saw it from just after the first plane struck all the way through to the next morning when a smaller building fell (can't remember what it was called).

After the first one, I remember thinking - god I hope it was a mistake - through to absolute rage after the second plane hit.

For something that happened to another country, albeit a close ally to us, it was the first time I really cared about something like that!

I was in first period P.E. , 7th grade. I remember my classmates talking about the towers being demolished. I don't watch the news in the morning, so I had no clue what they were talking about or if it was true. The teachers let us watch the the clip of the planes hitting the towers, then turned the television off. Back to teaching. Some asked us if we wanted to discuss the situation and how we felt about it. That was about it.

I was in my kitchen getting 2 bottles of milk ready for my twin daughters when I saw the first one had already hit the first tower ,then as I continued to watch I saw the second one hit the other tower.I immediately tried to call my husband he was there. He had to be there for 3 months , until he couldn't handle it anymore. It was unbeliveable I thought it can't be true all those people .I was glued to the T.V for days. It still seems so unreal when you go there and these huge ,beautiful twin towers are gone. All those families destroyed .

I was in bed. I sleep with the tv on so as I was waking up I saw all of it happening. I thought it was a movie then my husband called me freaking out I was trying to tell him about this movie and he was trying to tell me that it was real. I finally understood what he was saying and I still could not believe it. My husband is a retired NYC Police officer. We both lost friends that day. Even now when I watch video clips of it I still find it surreal. It is still hard to believe that it happened.

My mom came into my room and turned the tv on. It was like 5 or 6 in the morning in Alaska where i lived. I was too tired and annoyed that the tv and lights had been turned on to comprehend what was going on until a little later.
