For example, an introvert can never achieve the same level of suave interactions as an extrovert. What do you think about the demand for such social skills to "get ahead"? I don't think it's genuine. I have some adverse reaction to it, although I understand it is yes, important. It isn't the most important. I find expertise is also very very important.

What a man does is not the man but the discipline of the man.
So, who is the Man? Can I trust you? Are you kind? Are you a psychopath?
Social skills are exceedingly important. What you can do, pales compared to who are you.
Social skills are not that hard to develop either. Introvert or extrovert does not matter. What does matter is the fundamentals of behavior. A bold extrovert with a propensity for groping others will not be well accepted. but even the most introverted person with good character and behavior will be accepted, and when accepted will bloom into a more trusting and open person.
So, it is apparent that personality does not make a socially acceptable person.
I would suggest a read of Emily Post. She is exceptionally well spoken on this subject. Otherwise I would suggest a close look at society and ethics. Moral behavior is acting within socially outlined understandings.

Unless one lives on an island alone, no, it doesn't depend on personality. People make the world go round, and whether you like it or not, you are in some way going to have to deal with other people. It has been proven that social isolation is unhealthy, and destructive to the psyche. People need other people. The most natural way of people learning anything is by learning from other people, you know, how you learned to speak and read and write and all that? How to use the facilities and no longer wear Pampers? Get the idea?
