Well, many women use Organic deoderant which is said to be better than the regular stuff... which can contain chemicals like BHT (proven to cause cancer in dogs through testing) and other harmful ingridients. An unfortunate side effect is that the deoderant doesn't last that long... but I guess it comes down to smelling good or having cancer.

I read all of the answers and I am amazed that no one even considered the fact that you don't need to wear deoderant.
If you keep your self clean, why do you need this product?
If you think about it, this is a scary result of watching too much advertising. People smell like people. Have we been conditioned to hate the way we smell? I think so. And not for any good reason. Just so cosmetic companies can make money off of you. People, let's keep ourselves clean and like the way we smell. Wow! You don't go around smearing that stuff on your own dogs, but you all sound like you are just not thinking, and just doing whatever the television tells you to do. TV has you all well trained.

People are different, some women dont need to use it while some need to and some have to use really strong types you have to get at the doctor.
I have a guy friend that never uses it he washes his armpits with dawn dishsoap and never smells. Peoples bodies are just different.

Some do it because they prefer to keep it natural... others do it as a feminist statement "Im not gonna smell pretty for some man"... or... they could just be lazy greasy slobs- take your pick
