Actually I think they both are headed in the right direction.

But Auburn is in better shape right now, just because of continuity in the coaching staff. When Saban gets the types of players he needs to best fit his system, 'Bama will be just fine.

I expect Auburn to win the Iron Bowl for the 6th time in a row this season, but the series will even out over the next decade.

Auburn is playing a ton of freshmen and sophmore, with very few upper classmen. So, if TT can keep the defensive and offensive coordinators, you will see three juggernaut teams in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
