help! i'm trying to figure out how this works...my calculus class is basing the grade off the following scale: 20% quizzes, 20% first midterm, 20% second miterm, and 40% final. i've missed 2 outta 4 quizzes and i wanna know what i need to get on the 2 midterms & 1 final & 2 quizzes to pass the class with at least a C. i know i should aim high but i wanna know if i can still get a C with the bare minimums...thanks!

Well the highest percentage you can now have for quizzes is 10% so if you do perfect on that you earn 10 points (any less is troubling)

For midterms, generally as long as you get a 70 then you will be fine with a c.

For a final you must get at least an 80% roughly... thus you may receive about a B or so average actually, it depends since teachers all grade differently and i am doing this mainly of the top of my head. Try to get over an 80 for the 2 quizzes since you missed 2 already, also get a 70 or higher on the others. that is a guaranted minumum of a C.

These things all work together, so it is hard to tell you what you need to get if all you have had so far are two quizzes. Since you missed two quizzes so far, I can assume that you have less than a C on the midterms at this point. Let's say you have a D on the quizzes. So you would need a B on one of the midterms, and C's on everything else, to get a C in the class. If you had an F on the quizzes so far, you might need to have Bs on both midterms, or on the final, in order to get a C in the class.

the two 0 grades on the quizes mean the best grade you can get now is 10% low. That is, it's now impossible to get anything higher than a 90%

80% of your grade is in those midterms and finals. Only 10% of your grade is in those remaining quizes. You could theoretically blow the other two quizes and if everything else is 100% you'd have a B.

Just know that your average now has to be a B in order to get a C -- you've lost a full letter grade.
