What if were were 100? 10,000? 1,000,00? 2? 1? None of these people, of course, would have knowledge of the events that transpired before their death.

Think of if you knew who would die? If you didnt? What if it was someone great like Mozart or Ghandi who would die in your place? Theres no morally right or wrong annswer. What value do you place on your life? Life in general?

Who's to say you wont end up becoming someone who cures cancer? Wins a Novel Prize? Ends global warming? What worth do you think you do/will have on this earth? Is it worth dying for? Is it worth other people dying for?

You know, that is a really good question. I really dont know. Of course, I don't want to die, but i dont want to live with the regret of being the reason of someone else dying. because what if 1 of those random people was someone i knew? Or someone too young too die, like me?
Yeah i could be a nobel prize winner, or somthing, but what about those other people? What if i turn out to be a really bad person, and the people who had died could have been something greater? Yeah, some people might say "Im too young too die, have the other people die" Well what if the people who were to die were even younger than you? Then what?

Such hypothetical questions, which do not have any resemblance with real time life can invite answers where people can afford to be moral, generous and magnanimous to the fault and claim to be do what they would never even imagine in a real situation. If my death can save ten lives or my continued survival can lead to ten deaths, the population of the world remains same.As my choice to die is not for any worthy cause, like to save a child,or a person needed by the world for it's good and some thing akin to it,then I as well live on.People have been and shall continue to die and so be it.

I think I would chose myself to die, because the ten people being "randomly" chosen to die, one or more of them could have been a child, and what if that child had an important thing they had to do or share with the world, and just because I chose for them to die, the world was not given a chance for that. Or what if the people who died in place of me didn't get a chance to really live. I'm happy with what I've done with my life, so I'd give my life to save a few more.

I don't believe in random for situations like this -- so, to me, the question would be a choice between me and 10 (or 1000 or whatever) people who are willing to die.
But at this point -- I'll take it -- I have no real reason to keep going in this life -- and if anyone else is willing to die -- they can take care of that for themselves.

Not to sound selfish or as if i feel i am superior to anybody, but i'd go with the random people. Unless you yourself are murdering these people, and as long as you have no knowledge of who is going to die and how they're gonna go, who's to say their number wasn't up already anyway?

I want to know what you"d do. Why such a stupid question anyway? If they were family members or friends I'd choose to die. But to not even know who the people were, I would want to live. I have family also. They don't want me to die yet. I haven't lived life to it's fullest. I'm not ready to go for a stranger. Sorry.

depends on my AGE--If I am younger--THEY die--if I am old and have lived a full life, I would make the other choice. Of course, it is hard to say here just how old OLD is, like Bill Clinton trying to figure out what IS is.
