yes, Jorja said she is leaving the show to do other things, personal and professional, before she gets to old. but, Carol Mendelsohn said in an interview that Jorja will definitely returning, but she can't say when...
my guess is Sara will marry Grissom, and be his wife off-screen. Grissom and the rest of the team will discuss Sara occasionally. i don't think the writers want to kill her character, as Mendelsohn stated that Jorja will return.
Jessica Lucas is a guest star for 4 episodes and she will not replace Jorja. her character name is Veronica Lake.
read my sources, to find out more.

In the second episode this year, she told him she was going to move to the Swing Shift. Although she is leaving the show, IF they choose to go through with a marriage between her and Grissom, she will supposedly still be in Vegas, just on a different shift. So this will most likely be the way they explain her being gone.
Unless they kill off the character, which is stupid and I think shows do that way too much when an actor decides to leave a show.
I read that the fans have started a letter writing campaign to keep Fox on the show. The article said that CBS had received more than 3,000 letters so far.

Ok - how about this: Grissom has proposed, so he and Sarah get married. She decides that she can't work at the lab now (she'd have to work with Catherine, after all, or Eckley - bleah!), and that's probably going to mean that she's going to quit and go teach forensics at the University. Of course, she's still in town, seeing as how Grissom is still there, and once in a while, she'll show up as a "special consultant" or some such. The show is safe, Grissom is still on board, and all's well with the world ;-)
I don't blame Fox for leaving at all; except for the Grissom/Sarah story line, she gets crappy parts, and I think it will be interesting to see her brach out some. Look at the work she did on ER and West Wing; CSI hasn't given her nearly the roles that she had in those other series.
