Being a man, I don't know what it is like to keep the flow of water restricted to one part or side of my body for that reason.
I do understand how hard it is to keep an injured part of my body from getting wet or even to complete the many shower duties.
It is always a relief when the ability to not concern myself with such things is like and can continue to enjoy a hot shower as before.
It sound like you might have a little trouble letting go of what was so much a part of your life and body for many months. I would say, "Just do what feels good!" That's what I do.
No pun intended. Grin

I have my back to the faucet because I HATE hot water being too close to my face. Even when I wash my face, I turn the water cold, stick my face under to wash it, turn the water warm again, and immediately turn back around. Probably slightly weird, but that's how I've been since I was little.

Random question! Kudos for that. lol. I do both! When washing my hair and stuff, I keep my back away from the water. And then when rinsing it off I put my back to the water. When just standing there enjoying it, I usually have my front to the shower.

I had the same problem ...remembering old habits after my first. So now I do both half facing and half facing away.
I secretly decided I had always done this and my memory was not going bad.
Btw thanks I'm happy to know it wasn't just me, who forgot.
