Are you Tim McCarver by any chance?
He's an idiot? He's an idiot hitting over .500 in the playoffs. Slack off? Although, I seriously doubt you have ANY clue whatsoever about Manny's work ethic. What does it matter when he's a player that helps his team like Manny does in the post-season?
And that was a Homerun last night. No doubt about it. The reason why that ball caromed so hard like it did is because it hit the corner of the platform on top of the wall behind the yellow line. How is it even physically possible for the ball to do that off of a cushion? It's not. That's why it was a homerun.
Now given what I've said, I'm in Chicagoland. I am a Cubs fan. However, I was born in Boston and I am Red Sox fan above all else. Go BOSOX!!!!!!!!!!

What's to not like? Granted, he doesn't always knock himself out running the bases, but the cat's tearing the cover off the ball! He hit a homer Thursday night and the guys who are paid to get it right got it wrong. He didn't get hysterical and go off on the umps. He stood on first base and laughed about it. Didn't matter. He understands that it's a game. Someone wins, someone loses, and the sun comes up tomorrow. He plays the game with a smile on his face and he has fun. And he's one of the best right-handed hitters of the last 50 years. He can hit it out of any ballpark from foul line to foul line. Remember, there was only one Willie Mays. (And it would be way cool if the Cubs managed to win something in '08, but they're still the Cubs. They have their mysterious ways.)

Manny is a good baseball player. Hey, at least he actually gets on base during the post season unlike A-Rod and he gets a lot less a year than A-Rod. Quit blaming on waiting when he hits a homerun. It is not like he is the only one that does it so why does he deserve to get all the blame?! I see other players do it all the time. I don't like Manny, but I don't hate him. Cut the guy some slack. Jeez one mistake and he is already a stupid idiot?

So Manny is arrogant-so what? He's a damned good hitter. He deserves to be so. And last night, IMO, Sox fan or not, that was a HR. In the end it doesn't matter, we would have won anyhow-but he deserved the HR. He's one of the best postseason hitters we could ask for-not everyone is nice and sweet and modest. Nobody is perfect!

I am a Yankee fan and I love Manny. He always has a blast playing and doesn't sweat the small stuff. He recognizes the fact that there are far more important things in life than losing a ball game.

it is true that he dogs it tremendously, but as mike and mike in the morning say, its just Manny being Manny, yeah he could have extra bases, but he thinks anything he hits is amazing

Manny is trash!
Look at the guy, long hair, his pants do not fit him!
He disrespects the game of baseball!
Trade him to the Pirates!
